Requirements
- Basic understanding of mathematics and physics
Description
Electrostatics is a branch of physics that studies electric charges at rest. This phenomena arise from the forces, known as electrostatic force, that electric charges exert on each other. Such forces are described by Coulomb’s law.
So to study electrostatics, first of all concept of electric charge is introduced. Its important to know the properties of electric charge; what is meant by conservation of charge and quantization of charge. Coulombs Law describe the relationship between electrostatics force and the magnitudes of charges and the distance between the charges in question.
